Guest Guest Posted July 3, 2010 Dieter,She is a beautiful girl. You have focused well on her eyes. Her skin tone looks very good. She has very good catch lights and a pleasant expression. The background is nicely neutral. The kicker on her hair helps to separate from the background -- nicely done. I do like the specular highlights on her lips. You have not cropped very much into her hair. I would not crop so closely to her chin. To better compositionally balance the top and the bottom I would either crop more into her head or include more on the bottom. You have used a horizontal format on a vertical subject. There isn't anything in the background that tells anything about your subject. Perhaps a vertical format would be better. You could crop a tad off the left side. You want to compositionally balance the left and right sides of the photograph. The compositional "rule" for this suggests that you position the tip of the subject's nose in the vertical center of the photograph. Your composition is close enough that it looks very good, though.Be careful of split profiles. You do not want the tip of her nose to come close to touching the far cheek line. You want to make sure the far eye is either completely showing or not showing at all. You do not want to have the bridge of her nose cut into her far eye.I like your lighting very much, but a little more fill would lighten the dark circles under her eyes and her chin. You could solve the problem by lowering your main light a little.Your name and your advertisement (web address) is not part of the photograph. Your name could be properly placed on a mat surrounding the photograph. Any advertising would be better placed on the back of the photograph.Nice shot,Mark Link to comment
Stock-Photos 1 Posted January 30, 2013 Best in your portfolio here, so far. This one stands out. Simplicity, beauty, lighting and the limited color palette make this one of your best IMHO. Link to comment
