self-portrait on a stoop

This is a self-portrait. For this photograph I posed myself as

something of a thuggish character. Which wasn't too hard, since I

happen to look that way most of the time. In addition to the nice

tonal balance of the background, the shadows in this photo benefit

from the low angle of the sun on a winter afternoon.

You really have some strong graphic elements here that work together well. This kind of image is fun as well as intriguing.

I'm not entirely sold on the high contrast effect though. Curious to see what a more moderate image would look like.
