jcongleton 0 Posted June 2, 2010 Well, you can't actually see the wind... This is a redo from a year or two ago; I started over with the processing and think this is a much improved version. Link to comment

marc_dilley1 0 Posted June 2, 2010 Excellent. The dark sky and highish contrast work very well to make a crisp, powerful comp. I like the distinct yet soft side light on the outcropping. Link to comment
alfbailey 4 Posted June 3, 2010 The contrasting combinations of sky , rocks and tree, seem to compliment one another really well, and the tonal range depicts each element nicely.Very well done!RegardsAlf Link to comment
williamsquire 0 Posted June 3, 2010 After experimenting with HDR and coming back to this image I can't help but wonder if you did a little HDR work on this photo? Link to comment
jcongleton 0 Posted June 9, 2010 Marc, Alf and William, Thank you for your comments. I had some difficulties in pulling back the contrast on this one; initially it was way too harsh—not because of the light, but because I went overboard right at the beginning when I was processing the RAW file. Eventually I realized I needed to start over. It actually still looks a bit too contrasty to me in compressed form, but is fine when printed. Alf—I did not use HDR, but I did make an effort to keep the shadows open while processing, by being careful with Curves and by using the Shadows/Highlights adjustment. Link to comment
plangereis 0 Posted November 24, 2010 Another great image, Jim. I like the way the stratification of these rocks along the upper edge echoes in the cloud pattern. It is as if the rocks are in a dance with the clouds. Excellent B&W conversion again. I must be sounding a little repetitious! Take care, Jim.Paul Link to comment
