The dynamic range is there due to good lighting and exposure.  However, I am sorry but I can't see anything other than is she checking to see if her deodorant is working.

Nice lighting and tones. Interesting expression. Besides the point raised by Robert L about the pose, i wish the two elbows were not cut off. Nicely done. Regards - michel

Jan,

You have focused well on her eyes. Having her eyes closed works very well with the mood you have created. The lighting coming in from her right makes some very nice shadows on her body. These make your image interesting and help to create a good illusion of depth within your photograph. The background is nicely neutral and Angela is well separated from it. The contrast is excellent.

The lines of your pose are quite good, but the angle at her right elbow is 45 degrees. A right angle is quite masculine. She would have a nice soft "S" curve to her body if her right arm was extended up a little to increase the angle at her elbow.

While her skin tone is excellent, the area at the top of her right breast (near her armpit) is brighter than her face. It, therefore, draws the viewer's attention away from her face. Nothing in your photograph should draw the viewer's attention away from your subject's face.

Thank you Robert. I was wondering why Angela was smelling her armpit. I didn't think about checking her deodorant.  It is generally best not to shoot bare armpits or crotches. Either can look rather tacky.

Her eye make-up looks very nice, but she could use a little lipstick and blush. She needs a little shine on her lips and more definition to her cheek bone.

You don't want to crop through her left hand or her right elbow. You really are a little close to her left hand.

It is generally best not to have your subject posed straight on to the camera, but this seems to work. I think part of the pose is the shape she creates with the angles of her body. It doesn't hurt that Angela is so nicely thin looking.

Be careful of the position of her hands. Avoid having the back of the hand or palm towards the camera. The edge (side) of the hand towards the camera is thinning, feminine and graceful.

It looks a little odd to have her face positioned so far to the side of the frame. Your subject should have more room in front of her than behind. This allows her to be facing into the picture, not out of it. You want to compositionally balance the left and right sides of the photograph. The compositional "rule" for this suggests that you position the tip of the subject's nose in the vertical center of the photograph.

Nice shot,

Mark
