Hi Jamie, what do you think, are you happy with this image? If you are pleased with the result then that is really all that matters. Is she a wife/ girlfriend? I think it lacks contrast and the inverted letter box frame isn't helping. Direct on camera flash can work but only in limited instances and here looks amateurish. It appears you are telling a story but have not given all the story. The models pose is defensive and as her face is hidden is uncomfortable too. Stick to the accepted format for a frame and use bounce flash for a more natural look. As always, this is only my opinion.
