So, I join a very long line in commenting on this photograph.  That's OK; I'm told that waiting makes the experience that much better.

This photo has a distinct Asian feel to it.  The human creation is proportionally far less important in the scene than the natural beauty.  Yet, the two boathouses play a significant role, if only because of their color.

I can see why it's a secret Alf.  I find the reflection utterly enthralling, almost giving the composition a surreal quality.  Lovely work as usual.

I can vouch for the "waiting" theory, I waited two years to get this shot, (not in the same position with camera poised, but you know what I mean, when the right conditions presented themselves)

Many thanks for your very kind and encouraging comments, I'd love to take the credit for being as creative as you, but the truth is I didn't realy do very much with this image at all, just a small crop and a couple of tweaks with contrast and sharpening, that was it! Sometimes you just get lucky! Thanks again Gail.

What a strange place this is. The mountains have no trees. The place looks volcanic...and with the hdr it makes it even more volcanic. Beautiful and unique..good job.

The mountains you can see in the back ground are almost vertical so even the most ambitious sapling would find it difficult to gain purchase on this slope. But yes I agree the whole image has a surreal dream like quality about it, this I think is what is appealing about it. Thanks again Vicki
