michaellinder 16,612 Posted May 16, 2010 So, I join a very long line in commenting on this photograph. That's OK; I'm told that waiting makes the experience that much better. This photo has a distinct Asian feel to it. The human creation is proportionally far less important in the scene than the natural beauty. Yet, the two boathouses play a significant role, if only because of their color.Magnificent landscape, my friend. My sincere compliments, michael Link to comment
adan1 0 Posted May 17, 2010 I can see why it's a secret Alf. I find the reflection utterly enthralling, almost giving the composition a surreal quality. Lovely work as usual. Link to comment

GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted May 17, 2010 Your P/P work has made this a 'magical image'. So beautiful, you're displaying your wonderful talents here Alf. I can only hope to one day edit with such craftmanship. Everyone's remarks are so 'spot on'. Congrats, a winner of a shot! warm regards, Gail Link to comment
alfbailey 3 Posted May 17, 2010 MICHAELI can vouch for the "waiting" theory, I waited two years to get this shot, (not in the same position with camera poised, but you know what I mean, when the right conditions presented themselves) I like your idea of an "Asian feel" , I would never have thought of that, but now you come to mention it, I can see what you mean. Many thanks for your visit and very kind words Michael, much apppreciatedKind RegardsAlfADANI agree the reflections do give it dream like quality that is appealing. Thank you for your thoughts and very encouraging comments Adan Much appreciated.RegardsAlfSIWLovely to hear from you! Many thanks for your observations and kind comments, very much appreciated.Warm RegardsAlfGail Good to hear from you! Many thanks for your very kind and encouraging comments, I'd love to take the credit for being as creative as you, but the truth is I didn't realy do very much with this image at all, just a small crop and a couple of tweaks with contrast and sharpening, that was it! Sometimes you just get lucky! Thanks again Gail.Warm RegardsAlf Link to comment
vickifrance 0 Posted May 18, 2010 What a strange place this is. The mountains have no trees. The place looks volcanic...and with the hdr it makes it even more volcanic. Beautiful and unique..good job. Link to comment
alfbailey 3 Posted May 19, 2010 Hi VickiMany thanks for your visit and kind comments. The mountains you can see in the back ground are almost vertical so even the most ambitious sapling would find it difficult to gain purchase on this slope. But yes I agree the whole image has a surreal dream like quality about it, this I think is what is appealing about it. Thanks again VickiKind RegardsAlfALBERTOMany thanks for your visit and very encouraging comments!Best WishesAlf Link to comment
