matman1975 0 Posted May 5, 2010 Hello Armand....this portrait shot looks a little bit dull due to some technical "mistakes" mainly in composition. When you shoot a big cat in "resting" position, you either include in your frame the whole body, or create a tighter frame by focusing exclusively on the head and torso. Your framing here is a little unbalanced....front and back legs chopped, head too centered, leaving too much empty space to the left part...finally the leopard doesn't look at your lens...you miss this way this "personal" feeling created when a stunning predator stares the viewer straight at the eye. You are very lucky being able to take shots of wildlife in your..."backyard"....I have to travel too many miles when I come to Africa! Regards from Greece, Teo Link to comment
