wogears 186 Posted April 11, 2010 Lovely portrait with excellent color and detail. Beautiful use of soft light and DOF. I don't like the price tag. Link to comment
riepko 0 Posted April 11, 2010 I really like this picture. So much expression, very realistic. The price tag on the glasses give it a funny accent Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 12, 2010 Love shots of our wise elders. The wrinkles when combined with fine photography like you have here make for a fine portrait. Also great utilization of depth of field. I must fine a willing subject to add to my portfolio. Link to comment
jerrymat 5 Posted April 12, 2010 A marvelous character study - one of the best I have seen in a long time. I much appreciate that his hat does not vanish into the dark background and the texture of his face clearly shows. This is skillfully lighted, exposed and post processed. I have mixed feelings about the label. It appears to me to be a pair of reading glasses and the label is not a price tag but a statement of the strength of the lenses. Perhaps if it were titled something like "Trying on Glasses for Reading",or "This Pair is Perfect for the Small Print" the label's existence would make sense. Or maybe it just makes him look to be an eccentric old man who never takes the labels off. In any event, I like it so well that I intend to add it to my favorites folder. peter.blum 0 Posted April 12, 2010 Hi Alexander, Very interesting portrait. Lovely expression, very good details. And a nice, tight cropping. And an excellent light with a perfect neutral background. Technically as good as it can be. The picture also tells a story, very expressive. An image that one can watch an watch. Stirs the imagination. Evokes emotion. Very well done - definitely stands out. All the best Peter Blum Link to comment

gaule 0 Posted April 12, 2010 Really splendid portrait! The detail is exceptional and the eyes above all are the 'windows of the soul'. They speak volumes. Link to comment
