This tiny wild flower pops up in our yard each spring and this year I

captured it with my new Nikon 105mm lens. Since the lens is new to

me your comments are especially important. Thank you for any

comments.

Deanna, this is simple and well presented. You are going to have a ball with that new lens, would be my favorite lens for working with flowers.

This is a lovely image with very beautiful aesthetics. I have seen some wonderful work with the 105 in this genre and I am sure you will have fun with it. I choose the tamrom 90 mm macro and it took me a little while to be able to get the best out of it and it was no fault of the lens.

I chose to rate this well anonymously (better for getting your image in the top rated image section). I am no expert in this area but I was offered some advice a long time ago that the background can be as important as the main subject and light colored areas in that background may attract the eye away from the main subject.

Best regards,

Thank you for the comment. I decided on the lens by reading lots and lots of reviews. There is much to learn and the hardest lesson so far is to be patient. That hasn't been one of my virtues. What a non-morning impatient woman is doing trying to be a photographer is beyond me. But I love it and support and examples from people like you has helped.

Thank you for the rating. This new lens is taking some getting used to. The slightest breeze is now my enemy. Most of my flower shots are taken with the flowers in their natural state outdoors and the backgrounds are varied. My next learning will be photo shop. So far that has been trial and error and it is time to hit the books. You have been a great help. Take care, Deanna
