I retract my statement about the doctor! You just give me visions of him with a malicious grin, snapping on a rubber glove and muttering to a giggling group of student nurses something about "Colonic Irrigation" . : - )

Ha!! You just brought back a memory.....I was about to go in for some surgery...the nurse had brought the bedpan, got me all settled on it's 'cold steely rim'.....", I'm working on trying to relieve myself while sitting on a stretcher, but the privacy of a curtain kept me 'secret' from the rest of the world....then suddenly, a Doctor whips open the curtain....surrounded by at least 20 students from the local colledge. I had no problem learning what a 'midstream' was! Totally shocked he began reading my chart, explaining the procedure I was about to have....started to offer the students to ask me any questions they wanted about my discomfort, when my nurse finally came rushing up....I thought she was about to 'deck' him....

Amazing.....to think we live in quite a civilized country.....Oh I just remembered something worse............nope.....that one is staying in my 'dear Diary' upstairs......man funny the things you forget about over the years....Cheers, Bottoms Up......clear the air, clear the room....I'm outta here....!!!!! Gail

This is the 2nd image I am visiting - I read all of the comments, had a laugh. I came to this one - read all of the comments and had a smile. I am late to the party and I know that I simply could not add much that would be meaningful or make the party more lively. So I stick with the image (boring me) and let you know it is one of the most intriguing and attractive doors I have seen and superbly captured by you. It could easily be a painting!

Deserving of a 7/7 (PN's msg: The owner of this photo has rated 1 of your photos with a 7 during the last fourteen days; and you aren't allowed to reciprocate so soon).but 6/6 for now.

This is truly an image thats may tell a thousand  stories. I like the tone of this picture and really makes the door look old. Doors are captivating - in many regards. It lets the imagination run wild. It also has so much symbolism withs links to the real life. One that we so often forget but is vitally important is that we learn to close old doors before we open new ones. That I can tell from my experience.

Kind regards

Bela Dick

PS: Got a lot of feedbacks on your comment. Thanks

Hi Gail,

thanks for your kind comments on my pictures.

I've scrolled your last work folder and I can see you spend a lot of time in postprodution, the image captured by your camera is often only the first step to present an idea.

I choose to leave a comment on this one that at first look is the more "natural".

A powerful subject well framed. The image is strong, a closed, locked old wooden door that stimulate my imagination about what we could find inside. The overall monochrome presentation of the image force the view on the geometry and shapes of the picture.

Great work indeed.

Best regards Fabio

Very nice capture and you know that I am really interested of doors and have a collection of photos  with only this subjects and trying to find them every where. Your shot attracted me for some reasons, first the composition and nice presentation and second is the wonderful patina and form of this door. Well done!

Best regards Sadegh

Thank you so much for taking the time to find this shot in my Portfolio, and for your very kind comments.  If I could be somewhere that these places were nearby, I think my camera would hardly ever leave my hands.  Cheers, John and many thanks for your interest.
