amalsircar 2 Posted March 30, 2010 Linda, very good composition, control of light & exposure and tonality. Link to comment
alfbailey 4 Posted March 30, 2010 This image reminds me of the scene fom that film "The Graduate" where the guy is banging on the door of the church. I love the way the light is illuminating the tiled floor, nice use of light and form Linda. Regards Alf Link to comment
elportebonheur 0 Posted March 31, 2010 Very well studied, captured and presented. Has something special this one. Like the emptiness in the fg in contrast to the 'real life' outside. Remarkable shot indeed. Compliments Linda! Link to comment

matthijs 0 Posted April 2, 2010 I love the picture. Also the use of darkness / emptiness is pretty impressive. I do have a nitpick but I'm not even sure how to express it. I'm missing or seeing something in the tonalities/gray tones that is off somehow. Probably caused by the high contrast of the scene. Maybe if it were a tad darker with a tad higher contrast this odd sensation would disappear. But you could also just ignore my feelings... Matthijs. Link to comment
lliebl 5 Posted April 3, 2010 No, Matthijs, all comments are important and appreciated. You've exposed one of my weak areas-----post processing when there are such extreme lighting variations. ~~~~~~~L Link to comment
gunnar1664882369 1 Posted April 4, 2010 Very interesting image. I like the contrast and detail. The light is very good and particularly the light reflection on the foreground. I even would like to see more space for this reflection in the bottom and less dark areas on upside. Link to comment
japi 1 Posted April 5, 2010 Two questions for you, if I may, hope you don't mind - 1. Is this the original image or is it cropped ? I'm asking this because, I would love to see a little more of the foreground, defining the area of light in the floor, almost like a mirror effect. 2. Is the handle (?) in the left side deliberately there ? I get kind of mixed feelings about it. It is very distracting to me but, at the same time, a very interesting "point of fugue". All together, a great image. Joao Link to comment
lliebl 5 Posted April 5, 2010 Gunnar & Joao - I'm attaching the original image. I agree with both of you that cropping the top and leaving more foreground would have benefitted the overall image. Please feel free to comment further. ~~~~~L Link to comment
gunnar1664882369 1 Posted April 6, 2010 Linda, I even like it more in colours. Beautiful natural colours as on your original file works very well with dark/black area. Best regards. Link to comment
