ian cameron 0 Posted March 29, 2010 Clashach Cove, Moray, Scotland. This remarkable little beach near Hopeman is one of my favourite places to be during the summer months. In June, July and August, the sun shines directly into the bays at sunset and warm light filters across the pale rocks turning them to gold, but not on this occasion. This time a heavy summer storm is billowing over Inverness and the sky is purple with rage. Oddly this has given rise to incredible luminosity because directly above my head is a huge white cloud pumping white light down over the sea and pebbles, the long exposure was used in conjunction with a polariser to emphasise the clarity of the turquoise water and the pebbles can clearly be made out below a moderately turbulent sea. Pentax 67 II ,55-100 zoom,Fujichrome Velvia polariser, 0.45ND grad, f/22 at 12 seconds. Link to comment

james_osmond 0 Posted March 31, 2010 There is such a trend towards warm sunset light in landscape photography that it is refreshing to come across pictures with cooler hues such as this one. Nice Work. I love the movement in the clouds and the translucency of the water. I'm not too keen on the big rock on the right though. Link to comment
marc_dilley1 0 Posted April 1, 2010 Ian: Great work, this is poetry for the eyes! I'm just amazed you can get such depth of field without combining exposures. It looks to me like the horizon is dipping down a degree or to on the left. Link to comment
