In black and white, this image works well. The human silhouettes, too, give a nice sense of proportion. By the way, Per, the use of the word 'rim' to translate the French 'rimaye' or its German equivalent 'Bergschrund' is not usual in English. Curiously, even in English we tend to use the German word, as it is, as the technical term to refer to this point where a glacier detaches itself from the mountain face.

Dear PJ: Thank you for your instructive comments on my photo titled "The rim at Aiguille du Midi". It is indeed interesting that you apply either the French word "rimaye" or the German word 'Bergschrund' in English. Frankly, I did not intend to refer to either of these for this particular photo. The correct title should have been the Ridge of Aiguille du Midi refering to the very narrow inclining approach to the crest.

Dear Yngve: Thank you for your supporting comments.
