mika.huisman 0 Posted March 21, 2010 Hi Folks! Now this is a new version from earlier photo. I was not quite pleased to dark area around the sun so I had to try to fix it. I'm not quite pleased it still but I think it got better.. Also I did ad local saturation. I don't know if anyone have time to compare the photos and give opinion but I if somebody does I'm most thankful. Suggestions and critique are very welcome! ATB, Mika Huisman Link to comment
marc_dilley1 0 Posted March 22, 2010 Hi Mika - I compared both versions and I do like the increased drama in this one. By dark area around the sun I guess you are referring to the entire dark cloud; I sure am missing any other, smaller dark ring. It appears you increased saturation and deepened blacks, giving this version more punch, and warmed the color temp a bit. One aspect that I find particularly striking is the magenta glow on the FG snow. You don't see that every day (or evening!). I still can't decide if I like all that black sky up there. My knee jerk tendency is to crop off blank areas of sky like that, but in this case it seems to add some weight. Or not - just not sure. In any event, your image is outstanding. Link to comment
kenny_muir 0 Posted March 23, 2010 This is outstanding! I particularly like the long shadows in that spectacular red light on the foreground snow as well as the rich red of the river. There isn't a lot going on in the top third of the image and I wonder whether cropping down about half of it would help keep the eye on the real drama Link to comment
