JimCowan 0 Posted March 22, 2010 I like these bright saturated colours, not so over the top that they could not be real. Jim Link to comment

alfbailey 4 Posted March 27, 2010 JIM Thank you for looking in and for your kind and encouraging comments, much appreciated! BIRTE Lovely to hear from you I hope you are keping well, thank you for your very kind comments. VICKI You are 100% correct it didn't move an inch, but the term "Runaway Train" refferred to a brightly illustrated book I had as a child, and i was reminded of it by this photo. Thank you for your observations and kind comments Vicki. Sincere Thanks To All Alf Link to comment

jtipton 0 Posted April 10, 2010 Great capture of this freight hauler. It's hard to find an older train like this in this good condition. Nice composition. The clouds add just the right mood and the perspective is great. I like the hdr. Good choice on this shot. Best to you-Jim Link to comment
jmcconnell2 0 Posted February 13, 2011 Hi Alf! This photo has that visual POP! that we have come to associate with HDR. It doesn`t work on all photos, but it is beautiful in this photo, excellent work! Top mark from me. Link to comment

This loco was being lovingly restored by a volunteer group. Many thanks for your very kind comments.RegardsAlfJIM McSincere thanks for your visit and very kind words. I think HDR can fall into three basic categories and infinite sub-categories. The three basics being, Obvious HDR, Painterly HDR and the more subtle Natrural HDR. This is what I would call Obvious or bold HDR, as you quite rightly mentioned it doesn't work on all photo's, but I seem to remember an image of yours that was a much better example than this, that included a guy sitting on the front of the train.........think it was called "Inside The Round House" ...or something like that, a remarkable photo by any standard, so it remains for me to thank you sincerely for noticing my attempt.Cheers Jim!Alf Link to comment
