naomi 0 Posted February 23, 2003 The facial expressions and painstaking detail in the wrinkles and face are incredible. So are the tones. My only critique would be the tendency for the subject to merge with the background. Excellent! Link to comment

joe heiliger houston, tx 0 Posted February 26, 2003 I think the detail you have captured in this picture is great! I like the DOF as well. Changes... It would have been better if taken against a lighter background. The tones of the man and the wall get very similar at points. This is difficult to judge when you are shooting B&W because you have to think in Greyscale. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 27, 2003 Excellent portrait. May be a clearer background would have helped... Link to comment
click agent 0 Posted March 3, 2003 This is another fine photo in a strong folder. Excellent control of lighting. Captivating subject. The use of background here makes the subject pop out of the frame from my perspective. Perfect. Link to comment

don_hall1 0 Posted March 16, 2003 He has a very worried contenance. If that was what you were attempting to do, you succeeded. I like the light and the textures in his face. Background nicely fades away. Link to comment
bob_lester1 0 Posted March 18, 2003 I can't over come the feelings of 19th century ethnographic studies, only this studied portrait is not condescending. I find this a very powerful and complex image. Link to comment
