pfranklin 0 Posted March 12, 2010 These tiny little star lilies were opening before my eyes as I was photographing this little plant. The open flower was just born and the bud next to it is starting, in the next two minutes they were all open! Your comments would be appreciated, thank you. Link to comment

dloringphotos 0 Posted March 12, 2010 This is a truly wonderful shot. Perfect composition and pastel colors. I'm curious how you maintained such a shallow DOF, yet the stamens and closed flowers remained sharp - they don't appear to be on the same focal plane? Regardless, a fantastic image. pfranklin 0 Posted March 14, 2010 Anthony, Thank you for the kind words…much appreciated! Sidsel, A pleasure to have you comment on one of my photos! Your work is very inspiring. David, Thank you so much! I used a 50mm lens, 1 inch from the flower, f2.5 Av-evaluative meter, 1/25s and ISO-500 hand held. Hope that helps you ;) I didn’t like this lens at first but finding it gives me some creative shots and works well for flowers in the right lighting conditions at higher ISO. I appreciate you stopping by. Tim, Thank you for your kind comment. Roger, As always I wait to see if you will visit and offer a comment! I was absolutely bestowed by these tiny purple flowers. I fired off around 500 shots and many buds opened, I captured it from start to finish in many of my photos. I just love looking at flowers and am always fascinated by they really look like when one gets intimate with them. I hope you are well, miss seeing your photos….Take care Alf, I was wondering where those socks blew in from…you always make me smile! Thank you for your kind words, I am happy that you like this. ( I was not wearing any socks this day, big mistake cause my toes were very cold!) Take care ;) Bob, Thank you, always a pleasure to hear from you. David, Yes…these are little gifts of spring and I am loving all the new color and bloom…even with the allergies attached! Thank you for the kind words, happy to hear from you and hug the pooches for me! Ross, Thank you so much for taking the time to comment, I really appreciate your kind words…I did do a small print (looks great) and have it in my office for some cheer and color. Hope you are well and happy! Take care Warm regards, Pamela Link to comment

mtmixon 0 Posted March 17, 2010 This is a really cool image. As you suggest, what really makes it good (besides the wonderful colors) is the juxtaposition of the open flower and the other closed flowers. The focus and composition of the other flowers are perfect, too. This is going into my favorites folder. Link to comment
