Update: I can't quite put my finger on it but I think it is the bottom part of the image and by the paws that I find very mildly distracting. I did mention that it was a great capture.

Thanks as well Tony. I appreciate that the colors and processing in general may not appeal to everyone at first. My goal was to convey the dreary, drizzly aspect of the day. The light was flat and dull, the colors soft and muted. The camera actually tried to enhance the scene with brighter colors and contrast - this much more accurately portrays the scene as I saw it.

I am glad you changed this photo in post-processing. I am learning to change photos to reflect the way I saw the scene too. This is well done.

A wonderful portrait of a beautiful dog. I really enjoy the colour treatment. it gives a great effect . I have come to enjoy that feel that these wet rainy days days give me and I just love the rain.

P.S. What were you doing in BC? LOL

I like how the dog melts into the mottled leaves. He seems wholly self-satisfied in his noble dogginess.

Hi Jill - Thanks! We might rival you for rainy cloudy days here - Lake Michigan consistantly draps it's gray sodden clouds over us - especially in fall and winter.
