You might consider cloning out the dark streak (upper left) and the partial feet/thongs at the top center so that the viewer isn't distracted from the subject & her shadow. FWIW

I was just considering a suggestion to clone part of the photo when I saw Gunga-Jim's comment!

I agree with him about cloning.

A really fine composition, by the way.

I wonder why her shadow looks younger...

fascinating pic very creatively taken, i enjoy the very subtle touch of pink throughout the image. i don't disagree with the cloning, but i do observe that without the upper foot a slightly more lonely or desolate feeling emerges. there may be a slightly consoling effect by the suggestion that a group of women are tranquilly sewing together... just a thought.

Thanks for all your comments and point of views. They enrich my perception about the image. Actually she is middleage woman , who sells fishes . She was resting and embroidering a pillow and there was a friend also embroidering. So I decided to left her friend's feet . Marianne

Marianne !

You have chosen a close up of a motive in a way that almost makes it intimate. I like the composition with the legs and hands in fokus and the body as a shadow. You are a great photografer. Did you try to make a version, that is darker ? On my monitor, the soil almost burn out.

Great shot. I looked at Gungajim"s tighter crop but prefer the original. This is not simply as essay about form (although it is also that) but a snippet cut from the world around us, a living world in constant motion. The inclusion of the feet at the top reminds us that this is not sculpture or pure form but the patterns of life caught on the wing.

Thanks a lot for your comments. The image is not in a good resolution because I photografed the negative, and probably the quality was lost. Anyway your sujestions are very important to my perception.Regards, Marianne

I understand that the image can have several interpretations , and this is important to my development. But in this case I saw the scene like it is , with no crops so I also prefer the feet making part of the context. Thanks a lot ! Marianne

Abraços, Chico do Vale.
