Interesting shot. I like all the shades of red in it though I'm not sure I like her looking into the shrubbery (I can't type that word without laughing about the "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" reference), though I'm not convinced I would like it better if it was behind her. The flare spots at the bottom of the plant, if that's what they are, are a little distracting, and the blown-out highlight behind her hair detracts from her beautiful hairstyle for me. I don't mind the highlights emanating from the top right side of the frame because I think they lead the eye to the model and give her a nice little 'light bath.' I applaud the creativity of the photographer in trying for something different.

Bill's point about Giuseppe's creative efforts is well taken. Yet I can't seem to get past the blown out highlights of the subject's hair. Indeed my view goes right to that area, and that's too bad given the red areas that provide some impact.

The effects come across to me as intentional and meant to look like they look. I find the whole thing rather garish looking.

I always say if a color effect or look draws too much attention to itself and doesn't support or have anything to do with the story, narrative or attitude then it becomes just a photographic experiment as this appears to be.

I can't tell if this is a fashion image to sell a dress, not a dominant element in the scene so that makes it confusing or if this woman is lounging outdoors on a blanket and is staring at the red bush which is making her clothes and blanket turn red that may be construed as a metaphor of her feelings toward the red bush. I guess she's really become enamored with the red bush.

Other than that it does look stylish in a goth kind of way.

It looks like an image from a fashion catalog and I agree it is stylish - a whole series of these shots would say something cool about the clothes depicted. I don't really care about the blown highlights in this case - it strikes me as a photographer-in-the-know's obsession - sometimes things really are too bright to retain detail and leaving them be emphasizes the contre-jour look. As a single image it is less successful, as Tim suggests above.

Lovely photo and concept, unfortunately marred somewhat by the blown out, featureless hair. Just a tiny bit more highlight detail in the hair would make this nearly perfect. The other photos in this series of the model are equally appealing.
