single photos Oregon Waterfall

I took this while in Oregon, with a digital camera - not a very good

one, so the shot is not of high resolution. However, can you tell me

what you think of it?

Looks like your in the columbia goerge. Must be Multnoma falls?

Nice shot. This one seems to come up quite a bit. At a recent photo society here we had this and the judge (a magazine editor) made the comment that although it looks good in a picture, if this was to be published, that to make it fit in a normal size page frame either the top of bottom would have to be cropped, loosing the appeal of the picture. He suggested that if publishing was the intent to take a wider angle shot of this so they would have room to crop without loosing the primary focus of the picture.

I like this scene, moody, mysterious, dazzling. Good composition.

Try same frame at different light conditions. Maybe it could be better if the sun would be different agle at morning time or 4 o clock.

Claire, ya dun gud! I think it is a lovely moment at the falls, and with the limitations of your equipment, you should be delighted. The light is superb and any fool with a bit of knowledge with access to Photoshop can eliminate the flare in moments. Nice going. keep shooting and break all the rules.
