rkn 0 Posted February 17, 2010 I love to photograph raptors and have followed several nesting sites over a few years. This is a baby great horn owl who decided when i came to the nest to take a few shots to bravely come out and defend the area although he could NOT fly yet. Poor lil guy puffed himself up to look bigger than life and scary. His parents were flying above (dive bombing me) as I shot this pic and ran for cover. I think it has real attitude! and is not manipulated image, this is natural all the way. I probably shot 300 images of owls and eagles that day, will share more soon. (on this image I used a cannon elan, 75-300mm lens, fstop/shutter sorry i do not recall as was running from divebombing parent owls). Rita K Nicholson © Link to comment
paulpluskwik 0 Posted February 17, 2010 Rita, I enjoyed your wildlife photo of the Owl. I was able to get a few photos of a young Great horned owl also, The one I saw must have fallen out of the nest and was being bothered by some crows and it was also in the defensive posture. I had never seen that before or a Baby Great horned owl. I enjoyed your portfolio also. great work. take care. Link to comment
