A Red Rose

good first attempt,

i am guessing this is a colour photo that has been desaturated apart from the red of the rose ? is there any chance of seeing what it would be like with the stem and leaf in colour too ?

i like the compostion and the soft background focus, though cannot decide at the minute whther a greater depth of field would improve it or not

only real criticism might be the material over the hand and the arm, due to there not being much of it, if it was removed and left natural might be stronger photo ?

well anyway i hope to see more from you in future

I used the quick selection tool and then inverted the selection. After that I turned the selection to black and white. I'm just a beginner with photoshop.

Here is the photo with the stem green. The fabric over the arm is a pink robe
