Jack McRitchie 150 Posted February 3, 2010 This is quite a shot because it seems to highlight ephemeral reality - here, there, gone - against a background of that which endures, in this case symbolized by the cathedral interior. The transitory, the relatively stable, the timeless - that's the essence of the picture for me. The muted colors work well together and put the emphasis where it belongs, on the rolling, sea of people flowing through the abiding, silent columns. Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted February 4, 2010 The surroundings seem grand and staid, a perfect stage for your statement. I like that you've captured just a few slices of human experience as something more permanent: the connection of the couple, the affection of parents. When all is said and done, the busyness and frenetic energy of life doesn't mean much and evaporates. What remains are those connections and affections. Link to comment
