marcadamus 1 Posted January 22, 2010 I'm posting this one a bit out of season, but I'm sure most of you are looking forward to spring. I photographed these flowers and falls in Oregon's Columbia River gorge in April. The atmosphere was just covered with spray everywhere and it was all I could do to keep it off my lens during the two shots I needed to create this image. This is a blend of two images for ISO and DOF to keep the flowers from moving and get everything in focus. No subject matter here was added or removed, but I did favor using dodge/burn tools and luminosity masking to enhance the overall look and feel of the image. Thanks for any comments you may have. jenniferleigh 0 Posted January 22, 2010 Very beautifully captured landscape. Very serene. I read your posting to go along with it, and I think that your post processing is well done. Did you have to use any rain gear while you were there to combat the mist? Link to comment
stp 6 Posted January 22, 2010 It says "early spring" to me with the flowers in the foreground and the bare maple in the background. Great control of light (as always!) -- looks like a very inviting scene. Link to comment

paulpluskwik 0 Posted January 22, 2010 Marc, Beautiful landscape photo, Great color, lighting and composition. Take care.It is OK to think spring. By the end of January winter is getting a bit long & we are forecast a snow storm in northern Minnesota this weekend. Link to comment

backcountryjeff 0 Posted January 23, 2010 Nice job Marc, spring is good and those that are familiar with the the Columbia River Basin know that spring is just weeks away. It's not uncommon for the grass to be eight inches there by mid February and while it's not the Gorge there's plenty to shoot out in all that sage and grassland. I guess spring comes early many places, you're just priming the pump a bit! Link to comment

ndj 0 Posted January 23, 2010 Excellent Marc! You've captured the wet atmosphere remarkably well. This positively screams wet. I had to dry off my monitor after viewing the shot ;-) I see some have dropped their rating on originality, but I gave you a 7 due to the fact that exposing one image at high ISO to freeze the foliage, and one at a lower shutter speed to increase the DOF, is an original concept that was crucial in the capture of this image. I appreciate the sharing of the technique used to capture the image. Well done! All the best,Neil Link to comment

vincentfavre 2 Posted February 11, 2010 Hello Marc, nice job. Waterfalls often have this inconvenient : spray (and wind). Really good idea to blend two exposures. Beautiful photo, as always :) Vincent Link to comment
