Not Here 93 Posted January 20, 2010 Dick... This must be a tough little bird to survive your winter. Very sharp detail and at 400mm too. I have this glass now, but no immediate opportunities to play with it. Thanks for showing me the possibilities... Mike Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted January 21, 2010 Thank you very much, Linh, Ali and Mike! Mike, enjoy this lens. When I first got mine I was shocked at its size. But, I soon got used to handholding it. You are already aware of the sweet spot at f8. Also, when you combine f8 with a zoom range of 150 to 350 mm you'll notice the best results. The AF can be a frustration. But, when you know where your focus point is likely to be, so that the lens has minimal travel to focus, it can be pretty quick. You'll get some sharp results. And, I've taken some of my favorite flower shots from 8-10 feet away with excellent bokeh. It is a fun lens! Have a good time with it, Mike! Dick Link to comment
