andrea-de-bonis 6 Posted January 1, 2010 a nice way to start the 2010 finding 2 new photos... as always, rich in their simplicity and with exceptionl exp. as here, have all the range of greys and the same time the white of the snow so detailed, is rare. good year and thanks! Link to comment

wieslawmamon 0 Posted January 3, 2010 Shawn - I probably would have never hit on an idea to title this image 'Outland', but must admit an unknown artist who wrote the word on the wall knew what he was doing:-} Andrea - thanks for your encouragement, glad you like the tones which are very close to what I got out of the camera. Peter - welcome, I took a dozen or so shots of the woman as she was walking across the square but I found this moment when she's as if leaving the place the most meaningful for the scene. Nice to know it also works for you. Marjolein - though the square is in fact not far from the city centre, it looks really derelict, especially in winter, in warmer days it becomes one of the favourite meeting points for the homeless people in the city. Donna - welcome, I love when my guests find drama in my images, thanks for letting me know:-} My best wishes to all of you, may the New Year be happy and healthy for you. Link to comment

Jack McRitchie 150 Posted January 16, 2010 The space of ground which dominates the center of this photograph seems to act as a gravitational force holding all the surrounding elements firmly in place and creating a compositionally cohesive picture. It's a carefully set up and intelligent picture as I have come to expect from you. Link to comment
wieslawmamon 0 Posted January 17, 2010 thank you for your comment, especially an interesting point on the role of the ground in this composition. Also thanks so much for your unswerving faith in my abilities:-}. Best regards. Link to comment
tonmestrom 4 Posted January 25, 2010 Marjolein is right, poetic fits the bill perfectly. Your sense of observation and composing is as good as ever. Link to comment
trisha jean-angela 5 Posted July 12, 2015 This is a very sad and lonely image to me - the empty park bench, the woman walking out of the scene and the solitary bird on the snowy ground. Your choice for b/w really helps to convey the cold lonely mood of this photo. Very well done. Thank you for sharing. :) Link to comment
wieslawmamon 0 Posted July 24, 2015 thank you for your comment. I see what you mean, I had similar feelings to yours and my guests here, pretty sure that the gloomy December late afternoon weather had also its share for creating a murky atmosphere in this shot. Link to comment
