starvy 7 Posted January 1, 2010 this is a good honest composition. the right side of the face just under the cheek looks a little too dark for me and takes away my attention from the eyes. otherwise, a good picture, Link to comment
Not Here 93 Posted January 1, 2010 Tore... A truly beautiful portrait and young lady. For a comment, I find the shoulder a tad light so that it pulls the eye away from the face. Also there are a few editing marks (hard brush edges) visible on top of and behind the shoulder and straight down below her chin. Small issues that don't detract from a very nice shot... xray4u 0 Posted January 1, 2010 I am personally very fond of "low key" work where shadows offer a certain "mystique" if you will. This is somewhat of a low key presentation and I just love the overall charm, elogance, and look that you have presented through your lighting setup. I love the clarity in her eyes as well. Just really a great overall work Tore. Oh did I mention as an added bonus that you have a lovely model? :-) Link to comment
sarageaua 0 Posted January 1, 2010 Lovely and very good lighting. I see rembrand lighting with a backround light and a fill reflector. BUT you missed a spot when retouching .. on the upper part of the shoulder. Pay more atention when retouching... Link to comment
blue-olympus 0 Posted January 1, 2010 Excellent shot of a beautiful girl....I love the way her hair is styled around her face....Regards Link to comment
ephankim 0 Posted January 2, 2010 I like the light and composition. The model is stunning. But the smile is strangely asymetrical, and the eyes are a bit too dark. Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted January 2, 2010 Tore, She is indeed a beautiful girl. She has very good eye contact with the camera (viewer). You have focused well on her eyes. The skin tone is very good. The Rembrandt lighting is very good. Her make-up is well applied. The background in nicely neutral and she is quite well separated from it. The top and bottom compositional balance is excellent. A small back or hair light would better separate her from the background. Her left and right compositional balance is very good, but she could move just a bit to her right. The compositional "rule" for this suggests that you position the tip of the subject's nose in the vertical center of the photograph. You could darken her shoulder just a little so that it does not compete with her face for dominance. As mentioned by others, you do have a retouching problem with her shoulder (going into her hair) and her right eye. She should have more light in her eyes so that you can better see them. The whites of her eyes need to be made white. Her right eye has a double catch light in it and her left eye has a reflection on the left (her left) side of her iris. Her pupils are quite dilated. If you use brighter modeling lights or have a brighter area to shoot her in, her eyes will not become so dilated. Dilation can be a sign of sexual stimulation or arousal. If you are going for a sensual look, you might have her part her lips slightly. She has a very nice expression. The specular highlights on her lower lip are very nice, but there is a very large highlight near the corner of the right (her right) side of her mouth. That needs to be retouched. There is something going on with her face? Notice her eyelashes, eyes, mouth and chin -- possibly her nose, too. The left side of her face is distorted from the right side. I think I would have retouched the bright hairs going through the iris of her right eye. They really draw attention to themselves. Nice shot, Mark Link to comment

bevip 0 Posted January 3, 2010 he model and the position of the lights are extraordinary. But I think you will be distracted on post production as I have already pointed out the other friends of photonet. Image is still a great potential and the model is beautiful. Hello Link to comment
markonestudios 4 Posted January 5, 2010 In its seeming simplicity I find beauty. In its execution I find superb technique. Great work, my friend! Happy New Year! Link to comment
