whydangle 0 Posted December 22, 2009 This one is for Mike Mancil. He's always asking for horse pictures. Why, he even asked "where's the horse" when I posted an image of the Pacific Ocean. My Photoshop skills are good enough to do so, but I do have my integrity. No Photoshop here! Hey Mike, I know where the horses are, I just can't get free from house and kids to go and take them. This was a drive by when I was with my family in Solvang. This is "Horse Whisperer" country I am told, and I must get back over there to get some more of these. If this was Kentucky, the pasture would be manicured, but this is coastal California in October, so the pastures are full of clumpy textures. I pushed the whites to reveal specular highlights only, hoping to retain a certain murkiness. About 15 miles from here you can see the Pacific, but you won't see any horses! Link to comment
whydangle 0 Posted December 22, 2009 I decide a day later to post something more conventional and containing a central point of interest. That fence line is truly enthralling! Thanks for your time and click the Larger preview if you have a chance! Link to comment
Not Here 93 Posted December 22, 2009 LOL... A master of PS (that's a "P") that is incorruptible, I am impressed. This scene really doesn't sing until hitting the larger view and then all the fine detail jumps out. I can envision sitting there on the fence, no kids yelling, no cars, just the crunch of this horse eating grass with the wind in the trees. Idyllic for sure - thanks for the dedication. Hmmm, a black stallion in California.... so where's Zorro?... :-)... Mike Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted December 22, 2009 "That fence line is truly enthralling!" Hmmm... Methinks the sarcasm runs deep here. Actually, I think it is a lovely fenceline. Oh, and the horse is okay too! ;-) Merry Christmas, you curmudgeonly old codger, you! Cheers! Chris Link to comment
whydangle 0 Posted December 22, 2009 Thanks Bob, Mike, Janegbert and Chris for your thoughts. Mike, there you go again, asking for something that just isn't there. I gave you a horse, now you want Zorro. If you head 15 miles west of this place you will arrive at the Pacific Ocean. I think he may be there! Chris, just because I turned 50 six months ago doesn't qualify me as an old codger, although I would agree with being somewhat curmudgeonly. You know, I stopped to get a picture of that enthralling fence line and that black stallion walked into the scene. I almost cropped him out, but then decided he might add some foreground interest.
