You know, I have to say Alf, I truly enjoy your critiques...and when you do an intro to one of your Photos....you are quite the 'word smith'.........always something fascinating, or mysterious, or even better, jovial to say. This shot is no exeception...your description captures the mood 'spot on'......although there is a sunset....and the reflections are beautiful...it looks like a very 'cold' place....

Odd isn't it.........Hades should be hot (the reflections and sunset could depict that) yet when we are scared or sometimes when we have a 'way too wierd' de ja vue.....we get the shivers............this shot gives me the shivers! I love it when ones 'feelings' suddenly interact with a photo...makes it so much more alive...good shot and processing! tnks for sharing............hopefully if one day I finally meet you, it will not be in this 'cold place'..........or that 'burny burny hot place"! Cheers, and have a great 'Turkey Time' but most of all.........stay warm with your favorite memories....sincerely, Gail

Lovely to hear from you as always, Thank you for your kind words and observations. You have an uncanny ability to interpret my photo's with amazing accuracy, the reference to it being a "cold" place was spot on, the deck you can see was wet, not from rain, but from barely melted frost. Lake Ullswater where this was taken is a really beautiful location, yet standing alone on that landing stage was to say the least an eerie experience, the rising mist completed the desolate spooky mood, and the title came to me there and then, as I beat a hasty retreat back across the half rotton boards (The Landing was closed for maintenance) and back to dry land.

"Turkey Time" now that would have been a great description of my Christmas's as a child, We had Turkey for Christmas dinner, Cold Turkey boxing day, Turkey sandwiches, Turkey curry, Turkey and chips (or fries as you would know them) Turkey with added Turkey, Turkey with Extra Turkey, Turkey with everything!

Best Wishes to You and Yours Gail

Take Care

Many Thanks for stopping by and taking time to comment, much appreciated. I just looked at the date of this one 2009 ........seems like a lifetime away, in terms of my photography at least. I would have done this so much differently now, but I'm glad I keep shots like this........its a great reminder of how I was thinking back then.

Warm Regards

Alf
