ldavidson 4 Posted December 13, 2009 Bengt, it is pure joy to look at this image. It is wonderful. It has been a long time since I have used film, but I am curious is the Rolleiflex SL66 a medium format camera? Link to comment
bengt1664878721 2 Posted December 13, 2009 Thanks, everyone. I am glad you like it. Joan, for an alternate, slightly wider view see: http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=10116111 . I can't recall whether that was a possibility from the angle I made this one. Linda, yes, the SL66 is medium format - you might want to take a look here: http://www.sl66.com/ Bengt Link to comment

ldavidson 4 Posted December 13, 2009 Thanks Bengt. I went to that site and had a look, very interesting. I remember back in 1966/67 when I took my first photography course at art college that we were allowed to take different cameras home to try out and experiment with. The original SL66 was one that I used for a short time. It must have made an impression if I can still remember it, although vaguely, after all these years. Best wishes, Linda Link to comment

lonebearimages 0 Posted December 14, 2009 Beautiful! Simple, minimalistic and very effective. I think the black and white conversion is perfect too. Do you have a rendition that includes the ends of the two reeds at the bottom? I wish they weren't cut off by the frame. Beautiful work, Bengt. Cheers! Chris Link to comment
iancoxleigh 0 Posted December 15, 2009 Lovely B&W work, as usual. However, I agree with Chris, I'd like a wider view with the reeds not cut off. Edit: I read more of the comments and followed the URL you gave above. I like that wider shot a lot compositionally. I feel it has a nice balance in the composition that echoes the stillness of the water and the strong geometrical lines of the reeds. I think the punchier contrast here might be better, though. But, I don't mind the tones in the other, wider, shot either. Link to comment
BobSandford 0 Posted December 22, 2009 once again, nicely seen and executed. invites me to do as you did: stop and really look. use of dof pulls me in nicely into this microcosm. Link to comment
