Cold & Alone

I reduced the white balance all the way down to 2000 (in ACR) to get the initial blue hue. Then I played with the contrast, saturation and curves in Photoshop to refine the final image.

This photo was originally taken under those orange street lights so

common in most cities. But I reduced the white balance all the way

down to 2000 (in ACR) to get the initial blue hue. Then I played with

the contrast, saturation and curves in Photoshop to get the final

results you see here.

A beautiful, lonely image. But one that does not seem sad. Very well-done, I like the look of the snow and the slight blue hue works well. The shadow at her feet could blend better with the snow perhaps, but that's my only very small quibble. The reality is this quite appeals to me.

Nice photo - the kind I like. The blue seems to work, however I would have to compare it with others. A sad look would have been nice, but this one a pretty good too. I wish the light above her head wasn't there, but it is. Good one.

Dean, nice results. I really like what you accomplished. It would be interesting to see this with a cropped cinematic effect sort of like this. Not that there is anything wrong with the original composition. I am just fascinated with the mix of light and contrast back to the vanishing point. Great stuff.
