Emmanuel Enyinwa 0 Posted November 25, 2009 This is a very nice street portrait, Pnina. I have said it many times before that your environmental portraits are the strongest aspect of your portfolio. You have a certain way of putting your subjects at ease. Your portraits somehow penetrate the core, getting to the esssence of that which makes us all human. We might disagree on politics, but I find that both of us approach photographing people much the same way. Hope all is well with you. Link to comment
michaellinder 16,612 Posted November 25, 2009 What character in this man's face! Indeed, his eyes are brooding and mysterious. But what appears to be a scar under his left eye and possibly a broken nose also reveal that this person has seen his share of hardship and possibly conflict. In addition, the subject's attire presents him as having a great deal of dignity. By the way, the texture of the wall behind the subject provides a perfect background. Well done!!!! michael Link to comment
Donna Stavis 0 Posted November 25, 2009 Michael: I like your commentary-- nice observation about past conflicts with the broken nose, scar--, the clothes are clever -- business attire for many cultures East and West. He seems, indeed, lost in thoughts whatever they may be.... Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted November 26, 2009 Emmanuel, Thanks for your visit and comment, I think we understand each other better nowadays. Michael, it was a nice short meeting with this man, I'm for tolerance and finding solution in negotiations and not wars. I don't know anything of this man, but he was nice and cooperative, thanks for your observation of the BG. Donna, thanks for your added point of view, this man was a nice person to meet, even though for several minutes.. Link to comment
Apurva Madia 0 Posted November 26, 2009 Great capture this, but I feel the face could do with more light and the picture with some more contrast. Link to comment
