What a magnificent view and fantastic photo! I really like the colors you achieved, as well as the careful composition. Cheers,

Juan Carlos - It's nice to see that a new Dad can still find the time to look at images on Photo.net. Thanks for looking and commenting.

Dr. Didi - I appreciate you commenting.

Jon - Landscapes quite often lack the kind of detail that a well composed foreground can offer. I loved the color contrast of the water and the reeds. I'm glad you noticed and appreciated this also.

Pedro - Thanks.

Gultekin - Color is what I was playing with here. Thanks.

Gorgeous Drew! Superbly composed image with excellent, well thought out foreground, and beautiful peaks reflected in the waters of the lake. Well done.

All the best,

Neil

well arranged composition, nice light and tones.

even if i see the lake shore is straight, i have a feeling that the image is a little bit tilted to the right. but i am not sure. the bushes on the left and right subtracts a bit from the value of the image.

the color combination is outstanding. well done.

Neil - Thanks for your kind words. This was one of those times where I scoped out the scene the day before then went back and shot the early morning light.

Zsolt - Thanks for looking so closely. I think the impression of horizon tilt is because of the shape of the lake at the background base of the mountain.

Nice image with good colors. I'm a little distracted by the trees poking into the frame from the left and right. It looks like you used a GND filter for the top 1/4 of the frame which makes the tree leaves brown on top and yellow on the bottom.

Scott - Good catch! I did use a GND filter on this shot. I don't know if this shift in color is do to this, or a sloppy job of masking a NIK brilliance adjustment. Either way, it is an easy fix. Thanks.

John - Thanks for taking the time to comment.

(This could get confusing)

Drew,

There is a gull Lake near where I live.  Where is the one in your photo?

Cheers,
Drew

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I don't check-in here very often anymore.

This Gull Lake is in the Eastern Sierras of California on the June Lake Loop.
