Very nice old style BW and portrait, I would also think about a light hairlight or a little background separation, very appealing portrait. Regards

Rudy,

Nicole is a pretty girl. You have focused well on her eyes. She has very good catch lights. Her skin tone and lighting is very good. She has good eye contact with the camera (viewer). The background is nicely neutral.

Combined with her pleasant expression, her lack of make-up gives her a rather innocent look.

She really could use mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow, lipstick and blush to make her eyes stand out and to give her facial features more definition. Perhaps a little eyebrow pencil to shape and fill in her eyebrows would also be nice. With proper make-up and application she could be stunning (not that she isn't very pretty as she is). Good portraiture is the art by which the photographer allows the beauty of the subject to be observed. It is sometimes more easily observed with a little make-up.

As mentioned by Carl, she could use a hair or backlight to help separate her from the background. She has too much head room. Crop some off the top.

You could more her a bit to her left. You want to compositionally balance the left and right sides of the photograph. The compositional "rule" for this suggests that you position the tip of the subject's nose in the vertical center of the photograph.

The viewer's eyes will go to Nicole's chest and continue down and be drawn out of the photograph. This is because there is nothing to stop the viewer's eyes from leaving the photograph. If you would back up a little (zoom out) to slightly below where her top comes together there would be a place to stop before your eyes leave the photograph.

It might be a good idea to throw a little fill into her top so that there is some detail in whatever she is wearing. There is an awful lot of black there.

Nice shot,

Mark

Thank you for your expertise, and for good advice. I really appreciate it, since I not really portrait guy. And that is why I publishing my pictures over here, to heard some advices .But you can’t find it over here too often. I did obviously few portrait in my life, I did some weddings…. But it was newer my preference. I not really fill comfortable positioning a people, it’s going on my nerves and losing a passion.

Anyway, I agree with everything you set, but make up. This girl is my daughter, she is “only” 13 years old and I hate makeup.
