Great black and white image. The subject's gaze is engaging but i would have liked to have seem more room at the bottom of the image so the feet were not cropped out. Great shot. regards.

Great Shot.

I love the play of light leading my eye to the subject. I do think the image would have worked just as well with the subjects feet showing. The use of negative space lets me know as a musicain that the acoustics here are probably pretty good and project very well out to the photographers location.

Not the usual pic of a street violinist. I view that instrument as soulful, yet his expression is closed, suspicious, not in harmony with what he is doing. He barely comes out of the wall, but seems someone swallowed by it. An interested pic of an unusual character. L'heet

great job, I find the contrast extraordinary expression of the face of the violinist with the instrument you are playing, it looks more like a killer waiting for his prey that a popularizer of sweet musical notes.

Bravo

Perhaps your subject has simply found the acoustical 'sweet spot' in this structure and is tucked in to take full advantage of it. Either that or he plays so poorly that he is taking refuge from the inevitable volley of tomatoes and other soft fruits and vegetables that are sure to follow when he begins to play. In any case, a fine result for your efforts. Good exposure and a subject who is very well placed in the frame. The highlights on his hand, bow, and violin are all pluses though the one on his head, the source of which is hard to identify even when viewed 'larger', is puzzling and therefor the only distracting bit of tension I can find. Best, LM.

Quite a remarkable picture actually .. the unexpected presence of the violinist in this sombre setting is intriguing.
