henrimanguy 0 Posted January 5, 2007 I think I can agree about the black & white here, but we must take into account your evident liking for the colour, and, after all, in the contrary of what Andre says, death is also in colour. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted January 5, 2007 End of life is always sad, and this is sad,But I don't see the colors as a distraction, that is the place she was lying, and composition is good Ruud! Link to comment
j.k._york 0 Posted January 5, 2007 I don't think you would appriciate the green moss or whatever organic growth is in the mortar between the bricks in b/w. interesting angle. regards, J.K. Link to comment
Dieter Schaefer 20,139 Posted January 5, 2007 Sad find indeed, but such is life (and death). Composition and color work well here; conversion to B/W would create another image with a different impact IMO. My humble suggestion would be to clone the chip in the stone on the right; somehow the "imperfection" disturbs the image. Link to comment

kslonaker 0 Posted January 7, 2007 Very sad shot, but well composed. I like it in color, but b&w would also work well. Strong statement, Ruud. Life is short - better spread our wings while we can. Link to comment

domen.colja 0 Posted January 11, 2007 I should give a couple of cents of mine here: what on first sight seems a soft photo, by step two becomes a piece to be reckoned with. The perspective (slight, almost imperceptible angle) draws the viewer exactly where his eye should go and actually doubles the emphasis the subject alone has on its own. Ruud, a masterpiece. p.s.: Wonder if it'd work monochromatic. Guess not, 'cause even the somewhat misanthropic colors (they are sterile, sure) enhance exactly the latter adjective: sad as it is. Great, again. Link to comment
