Unusually awesome! Just the perfect moment, and the perfect little face. What a completly adorable kid. The object in his hand is a bit distracting because it keeps drawing my attention to try and figure out what it is. But that face is a force to be reckond with and keeps pulling me back. Something makes me want to tussle this kids hair, he looks like a fun little ball of pure energy. Also the angle is perfect. The focus and exposure is dead on. Its a bit yellow on my screen. I am set at 6500k so I am already pretty warm. Very nice shot. With a minimum amount of work this would be a very salable image.

Great! That face!

Thanks John.

The image on the web here is a little flatter than my RAW and JPEG files on my harddrive and I'm not sure why that is. Anyway, Wesley was opening his Valentine's Day presents. That's a Thomas train in his hand that got him so worked up. I couldn't really figure a way to crop it any more than I did; there's a window just to the left of the frame. I hadn't really considered the train as a distraction (since, of course, I know what it is), but you make a valid point. Thanks again for your comments!

I agree with the above. What a fabulous expression caught here. I think for the purpose of the photo album keep the crop as is! But for a nicer composition and complete focus on the face, I'd recommend the crop as I've done on the attached if you don't mind. I also popped the contrast and sharpness a bit! Let me know what you think. This is one of my favorites in this porfolio.

Sherry,

I agree. Well done with crop. I like the saturation and contrast that you've added. I believe this was saturated on my computer; however, I was having some trouble with color profiles at the time of this edit. I think I've cleared it up now (the whole sRGB v. Adobe RGB thing) and I'll revisit this photo with your suggestions. Thanks for you input. It was most helpful.
