Wes, This is one of the best shots of its kind, that i can remember [and im getting on in age]. I think the light really adds a lot.

Speaking as a rank amateur I am only qualified to say that this is a really nice photo.

not just being there at the right time and place, but is also very well exposed and composed. I do wonder though if this wouldn't have been better if the birds occupied the right or lower right corner of the frame. That way, the fact that the birds are engrossed with something on the left would have been effectively conveyed.

They look like they might be Curve-Billed Thrashers but they may be immature Brown or Long-Billed Thrashers. Nevertheless, it's a fabulous image. Congratulations on getting it!

This is how I envision birds--basking in warm, soft glowing sunlight, and being happy together. This is a very romantic portrayal of the life of birds. I can't see how the feeling presented here can be improved and that's what nature photography is about.
