Christal1664882414 0 Posted October 13, 2009 One of many historical round barns in Indiana. Please take a look. Thanks! Link to comment
Christal1664882414 0 Posted October 13, 2009 There seems to be a preponderance of these old round barns in the Midwest U.S. Here is a website that tells where to find the round barns throughout the country. (http://www.dalejtravis.com/barn/rbarns.htm) It shows pictures of them as well. They're disappearing at an alarming rate, but you can buy your own barn to restore if you're so inclined! photo by patsy dunn 1 Posted October 13, 2009 Christal, This is a great shot. I love barns, this looks great through the corn. Great job. Thanks for sharing. Regards, Patsy Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted October 14, 2009 They may be disappearing but I think I will resist temptation on owning one. Your minimal view of the barn across the heads of the corn is a wonderful view and one that I would have also been looking for. Very nice work and a great subject for the image. Thank you for showing it large. Link to comment
stp 6 Posted October 16, 2009 I guess I disagree a bit with Shawn -- I'd like to see more of the barn to know that more than the top cap is round. I was going to suggest a 6-foot stepladder. Nevertheless, combining the cornfield with the barn in the background is a great way to depict the barn. Link to comment
Christal1664882414 0 Posted October 16, 2009 I'm rather short (5'4"), and corn grows really tall here in Indiana, so I couldn't even see this barn from the ground. I was standing on the back bumper of our car and stretching up on tip-toes. My husband was with me, and since he's 6'4" I was tempted to ask him to take it for me, but then it wouldn't have been my shot, would it? I preferred this shot through the cornfield. Any other vantage points had a lot of other wires and clutter obscuring the barn, so I settled for this even though I agree about wanting to see a bit more of the barn. Thank you so much for taking the time to give me your thoughts......much appreciated. Link to comment

johnroberts 0 Posted October 16, 2009 There's a sort of mystery in this shot, what's really above the corn ? It's the kind of image that asks more questions than it answers. Very well taken and presented. Regards John Link to comment
brillb 0 Posted October 26, 2009 Cristal...Is this barn out in Hancock County? Do get down to the Library. It is really beautiful. And yes, that is where the blue monochrome was taken. Becky Link to comment
