pnital 36 Posted October 6, 2009 Now I'm the first.... ;-)) the light tones are coloring so nicly the bridge and its surrounding. I like a lot the interesting angle( high point? ) where we can see the house details in the FG on the R and the lower side area behind the bridge ( the bridge playing as a part frame). very good details and a photo that attracts immdiate attention of the viewr. ( btw, what is the L upper black form? is it a traffic light? ). I Like the composition Dave. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted October 6, 2009 Pnina: Thanks for your thoughts. I'm not sure what black on the left you are referring to, but if it is what I think it is, it is a bay window on the building. Gunnar: Thank you very much. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted October 6, 2009 It looks like some kind of shutters? that what I thought.... Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted October 6, 2009 Okay, that's what I thought you were talking about. Those are just bay windows sticking out from the building. cheers Link to comment
michaellinder 16,613 Posted October 6, 2009 The bridge and the buildings create a window to the environment beyond. VERY creative stuff! Great use of lighting and shadow. michael Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted October 7, 2009 I work in my studio out back, and when I completed this I uploaded it. Shortly thereafter I came into the house and sat down at the desktop in the den, and checked on this one. At first I was kind of shocked because the yellow was much more prevalent on the house LCD than it had been in my studio. But I've kind of gotten used to it now and it doesn't seem quite as radical. Thanks for checking it out. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted October 7, 2009 A beautiful and quite unusual shot of the Bay Bridge and one that sidesteps its iconic image. Even though it's a landmark, here the bridge has been tamed and made subservient to the needs of the composition. The gold of early morning is nicely rendered. Link to comment
drewmurphy 0 Posted October 8, 2009 Beautiful light and a smart comp, David. Great to see some new posts :) Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted October 10, 2009 This is quite an artistic and beautiful photograph that is not what I normally expect to see from you. Are you starting to move away from street photography and more towards artistic expression? I really like this shot and how the light is coming in under the bridge. Very nice work. Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted October 12, 2009 What light. This almost seems computer generated because of its perfection, crispness, and otherworldly gold. You have the Midas touch. Link to comment
alight 0 Posted October 14, 2009 the dudes living in these two apartment buidlings (or condos?) must be extra-special that they have a private walkway between the buildings - and that big! One of the more interesting parts of this image is the silver plunger that seems to be holding the left building from collapsing, and is leaning against the walkway's pillar. The plunger seems to be even of an ET origin. Now you also owe us an explanation how you managed to take this photo from so high - visiting someone? Did they have V8? If not, what the point going there? Wonderingly, Micheal Link to comment
jbm 0 Posted October 16, 2009 Warm, industrial, and poetic. This is great fun... Cheers, Jay Link to comment
