Smooth as Silk

a grain of sand holds the same key to god as does the highest intellect mankind can ever dream up. sand is used to build the highest buildings and the tiniest computer chips, yet, sand is blown by the wind which can deposit as beautifully expressive sand dunes for our eyes to behold and it is nothing more than worn down rock and reconfigured stardust through the expression of the will of god - good orderly direction - nature, naturally, everlasting, evermore.-me

i intentionally printed the dune "high key" and with low local contrast

set against a high relative contrast between the sky, the moon, and the

dune. it has a surreal feel to it. what do you think?

In your work, you have such a good feel of framing and composition! I think you do not need to invest so much in the abstract, in the 'unreal! Just leave reality as it is. You are so good at this!

breathtaking portfolio !!

Though it, I saw planet Earth as though another planet, or like we (each one of us) saw it first time around (whenever we were old enough to start discovering this world).

This portfolio evokes or awakens something very deep within us, a sense of the spirituality of nature (which we are only a part of), and which lays dormant blocked by the profusion of stimuli in modern life...

yep... yep...

and so to the casual observer,

a grain of sand is a grain of sand,

but to the eye of the beholder,

a grain of sand is alive.

A grain of sand holds the same key to god as does the highest intellect mankind can ever dream up. Sand is used to built the highest buildings and the tiniest computer chips, yet, sand is blown by the wind which can deposit as beautifully expressive

sand dunes for our eyes to behold and it is nothing more than worn down rock and reconfigured stardust through the expression of gods will to let the natural events of our universe unfold.

OK, OK, now you got me into wanting to re-develop ALL the mono I shot so far the 'hard way', I must admit I've been taking the easy way out getting the film processed, scanned then doing the touching up and cropping on photoshop, "the digital darkroom",but your talk about toning and all that has changed my mind.

I find this to be an interesting change from the "regular" images of the dunes and I like it very. Very creative and well done!
