I agree with Mike, and the dark sky really makes the lighthouse "pop". Looks great!

I'm not really big on B & W, but this has a 3D quality to it. Great dynamic range and very nicely composed.

A b/w delicacy - specially when seen large. Compliments - El

I agree with, Tim. Great shot. How did you get the sky that way? Filter? Grad? Anyway it looks wonderful.

Hello, Jay! And thanks! This was taken with the Sigma 10-20 with no filters. The sky adjustment was done by decreasing the blue intensity in the monochrome mixer in Aperture. You have to be careful with it or it starts to look overdone. Pushing up the red and adding a bit of contrast and vibrancy helps. I also tweak the luminance levels a bit until it looks just right. The tough problem for me is that the iMac monitor is so nice and bright...everything just looks better on it.
