Very interesting composition, great point of view. For a moment I thought it was a metamorphosis of the person/s on the street..the shadows makes it excellent. Best regards, vf

Thanks a lot for your interest.

This has been shot through the window ( not too clean a window as we see with the blury lampost ).

But I discovered that on sunny days, the lampost coupled with the camera, at a certain time were forming an almost perfect equilateral triangle.

The trick here was to wait for an interesting scene, as composition here couldn;t be enough for a good photo in my opinion. That day, I saw the two men resting, sitting on the pavement, and decided to take the shoot.

This is when the other two men just "appeared " ... I only waited for the first man to cast the shadow of his head in the square on the pavement to shoot.

And went back to work ...

Stefano Bonini : if you come around this photo again, I would love you to leave a little comment : I really thank you very much for your rating, and the courage to do it without using the anonymous system, but am really looking forward for a little discussion about your thoughs.

Cheers

A very disorienting yet compelling perspective here. And the alignment of the shadows, especially of the lamppost, but also of the head in the square is well timed. It feels timed, which is interesting since it also has a sense of spontaneity. I like the guys sitting a lot and I really like the stains in the street behind the car. That almost seems like the focal point of the photo for me, everything else framing it nicely. I did notice the smudge on the window up there, which is nice. It tells a little more of the story of the photographer without intruding much. It gives us a sense of the creation of this photo without too much telegraphing. It's an interesting addition here, especially since the rest is pretty crystal clear. It's like a small footnote to the image.
