I love the colors and composition of this Picture. The scan is quite good. What kind of scanner do you use? I'm jealous - I wish my scans of Glacier had come out as well as the slides did. :O)

One teeny little beef. It looks like the picture was taken somewhere near Logan pass. That being the case, the GTTS road runs along the south side of the Garden Wall, not the north side. You probably scanned the wrong side of the slide. Easily remedied, as I have shown here. Hope you don't mind.

Thanks for the comment. The slide scanner is a Nikon 4000 Super Coolscan with all the stops pulled. 16 pass, 14 bit, maximum resolution at 4000 ppi.

The position of the road is correct. You're assuming that the road going away from the viewer is going up hill, when what you are seeing is actually going downhill from the viewer. This was taken from the little alcove in the rock tunnel about half way up as I recall.

One of my more colorful images. I reminds me of the passing of time

in segments of eons and ages as well as how quickly things can

change like they did the next day after this was taken. Mostly

though, I just like the leading line of the road into the vast

distance.

The sky is a 7/7. I had to rate this photo 6/5 because there wasn't much else in the photo to hold my attention.

P.S. I thought your signiture was an abandoned shopping trolly on the medium sized image!

The landscapes i tend to see on here are technically sound and nicely cropped, but just lacking perhaps in originalliy or something that truly makes them stand out from the rest. This one stands out! The sky is amazing! It's a great landscape.

Sorry, this photo _is_ flipped. The shot is taken from Logan pass. That's Haystack Butte in the distance, sticking out from the wall. To take a shot of Haystack from the other side you would have to take the picture from 50-mountain camp.

Awesome Photo! Good technique in keeping the shadow detail. Did you use a Grad ND filter? How did you meter this?

Stunning light and moment, The dark areas on either side detract from the image, but what could you do, you had to shoot this! It's gorgeous! Great work!
