Another spectacular image of this location by you.  I too find the leading line to be an excellent element in this sunset capture.  I sort of wish the lighthouse was more perpendicular. Was this the structure in fact, or the lens in use?  Thank you for sharing your work.

This was indeed the structure of the lighthouse, which annoyingly leans to one side, I have, on other images compensated for this by altering the horizon or using perspective correction in photoshop, on this occaision I didn't bother, but maybe I should have. Sincere thanks for your visit and your valuable feedback Dave, very much appreciated.

That did answer my question though.  I had noted it at different degrees of perpendicularity in several of your images.  Even in this status, is it a functioning lighthouse?  Just curiosity.

Wow! This image is outstanding and it definitely goes to my favorite collections. Technically, I like the fantastic colors and the great composition. Aesthetically, this image is directly connected with the viewer's soul and I feel that it has a strong magnet to "pull" me into its world.  Excellent work!

Humble apologies for not replying sooner, your question was lost by quite a lot of other postings going on at the same time. The answer to your question though: - No, this isn't a funtioning lighthouse, I suspect it has been redundant for some 50 + years. Some people swear that the lighthouse is slowly moving towards the sea, and that over the years it has moved about 20 yards. I'm not sure if thats the case, but it certainly leans to one side.

Cheers Dave!

I remember this sunset well, I had vivited another location further along the coast and the light was terrible, but returning towards Talacre I noticed the light change and literally raced the traffic in order to get to the beach for sunset. I was rewarded by a spectacular lightshow. Many thanks for your interest and I'm honoured that you consider this a favourite.

Cheers Bobby

I'm glad you like it, this was one of my earlier encounters with this location, and the sunset was one of the best I've ever seen. I kinda wish I could do it again though.

Cheers

Wow! Truly breathtaking; I'd have to just sit down and watch the show and I'd probably have tears in my eyes (yes, I am really like that). Amazing beauty. Thank you for sharing. :)

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I really appreciate your views. I haven't seen a sunset like this one since, but I remain optimistic that one day the same light conditions will repeat themselves. It was indeed a very emotional experience.

The sunset was incredible, I've never seen anything like it before or since. I just wish I had corrected the lean on the lighthouse. It does lean to one side naturally and isn't a result of distortion, but I still think it would look better straightened out.

Sincere Thanks & Best Regards

Many thanks for re-visiting this one, it serves to remind me to go back to the RAW file and have a go at straightening the lighthouse.
