Dear Gordon J.,

Thanks for allowing us entry into your odd little world once again, a place where a passing woman seems to shoulder the weight of an entire train. Another strange hallucination from the north. And the tones! The tones!! Mangalicious!

Hi Jack;

Up here in the north we like our gals strong and sturdy. Moments before walking into my photo this girl was tossing peoples luggage into a baggage car with such grace and casual ease that you would have thought the suitcases were filled with feather pillows. Lifting up a train ... no big deal.

I have been remiss both in updating my own portfolio and visiting the portfolios of my friends.

The summers are short when you reside half way to the north pole, already the mist is rising on the lakes in the morning as the water cools and the days grow short. All of which means that my favourite time of year is approaching -- the oh so melancholic autumn. Followed by the cold wet windy days of November where I will be back indoors with a warm cup of tea trying to catch up on what I've missed over the summer.

I thank you Jack for your patience, your persistence and your support.

I had to google mangalicious and manga , so now thanks to you, I am a tad more informed than when I arose this morning.

Nice to have you posting new material again and with autumn coming soon we should see a deluge of photos from the north. Look at the arms on that gal, WOW!

Another one where you seem to have captured just the right moment. The lean away from the train and the relative size of the woman to the train all seems so right. Very nice.

what a cool shot... but as with so many of your pictures I want to see it large LARGE. . . 20 " or so, on an empty white wall... Much of your work works on scale.

Another fantastic B&W conversion, Gordon. And the scene couldn't be more enticing, I like the comment made by Jack, for indeed this looks somehow surreal.

Thank you for posting such thought provoking images, all the time.

Cheers,
