mbh 0 Posted September 15, 2009 I've seen efforts similar to this badly executed in the past. So it's a joy to see how beautiful this effect can be when done masterfully. Lovely image, you've captured the spirit of dance. Link to comment

aarkp 2 Posted September 15, 2009 poetry in motion, may sound trite but that's what came to my mind as this opened out... marvelous fluidity, captured with finesse... like a dance of light and shadow Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted September 15, 2009 Excellent work Pnina. I really like that the dancer is moving throughout your exposure with no portions in clear focus. Very, very nice. Link to comment

ldavidson 4 Posted September 16, 2009 Pnina, you have given this the perfect title. This is a hauntingly beautiful image, like a peice of silk in the wind. It is breathtaking, one of your best. Warm regards, Linda Link to comment
mike_stemberg 40 Posted September 16, 2009 Yes, even though we might know exactly what this might be (from you Pnina). this has that ethereal quality which sets its part from other similar shots. You happened on the perfect mix of timing, pose and posture.. A very nice catch! Link to comment
davidorea 1 Posted September 16, 2009 Superb capture, dear Pnina. This beautiful scene with motion is unique. Excellent exposure, forms, light and contrast. Good work! Warm regards! Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted September 16, 2009 Pnina; Wow ! Really well captured. I love that all the motions of the jump and twirl have registered on the sensor. I can feel the dance move unfolding. This is how motion studies look when they work out without flaw. It is as if time has been slowed down but not stopped... I almost expect the routine to continue to unfold within the frame. This works fine in B&W however I would be curious to know why you chose B&W over colour for this one ? In my minds eye I see this image in warm pastel tones. Link to comment
michaellinder 16,612 Posted September 17, 2009 This photograph is not about a static object. It is about a dynamic event, stages of becoming, a person's moving through a space-time continuum she has made her own. And, with this photograph, you have made it yours as well. The photo is incredibly executed. All the cosmic tumblers clicked into place with this one! Outstanding work . . . michael Link to comment
timzeipekis 5 Posted September 17, 2009 The fluidity of the lines are beautiful, it's such a graceful and angelic image. Captured accidentally, but with intent. A moment of perfect harmony captured in an instant. Congratulations! Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted September 17, 2009 Mark and Pierre, thanks both of you for your kind words. Mario, Alberto and Jim,I appreciate your feedback. It is a series I did trying to catch the spirit of movement. Rajat, thanks for poetry, dance in itself is poetry of the human mind and body Shawn, I appreciate your visit and feedback Bulent, ...;-))Thanks! Mark H. and Yann, thanks both for your visit and impressions. Linda, "hauntingly beautiful" and silk, thanks for your beautiful words,I tried in a series of them to express the spirit of the dance. Mike, I wanted to achieve that ethereal feeling, Thanks for letting know you think it is. David, thanks for your always nice support Jeff, " the essence of us" what a nice wording.. Gord, thanks for your wide impression, I will upload the colored version to see, which I think is not bad as well, but the b/w, did look more concentrated in its expression (to me), when the color is not present, interesting if you will think like me....? ;-)) Michael, Shana Tova ! And thanks for your very nice wording of your impressions. Tim thanks, this was my intent to express the harmony of body and movement spirit. Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted September 17, 2009 Pnina; Thanks for satisfying my curiosity and uploading the colour version, as well as explaining your choice. I was mostly curious about your reasons so I do appreciate the explanation. I find both versions equally effective. The black and white version does have a slightly more continuous flow. In colour my eye lingers and analyzes more of the details, the dancer is more prominent and the action becomes a slight bit secondary. I think this is due to the combination of a warm and a cool colours. Without the blue I think my eye would keep pace with the motion . Either way a lovely result. Link to comment
laurent_jaussi 0 Posted September 18, 2009 I can imagine the hard work and the number of attempta you have to make to record such an image Pnina...it transfers the movement, the grace and lightness of the dancer to the viewer...wonderful... Link to comment
