I think that this shot may have worked better in colour?? Also the string on the hood of the jacket is too distracting, try to crop this out. Otherwise a good shot, the eyes make it!!

I really like the depth of field. The coat frames the face and is mostly out of focus. the face is very sharp. Good composition.

When I saw this there was something else I could not put a finger on. Not being a religious person myself - but it dawned on me sometimes we are all drawn to something or someone for reasons we can't explain - If there is a God an he is Black then this would be a portrait of the son of God. That or it is a reminder that all things need a second glance. Excellent photograph of the human condition.
