phule 9 Posted January 8, 2003 Did you use Photoshop to create the almost-3D feel to this image? Link to comment
ian_macdonald2 0 Posted January 8, 2003 As a wool grower I empathise with the sheep but I like the image. Not sure about the centred placement of the sheep but you seem to have got away with it. Ian. Link to comment
alberto.conde 0 Posted January 9, 2003 The sheep, in the middle, is not an infraction of the rule of thirds (and I wonder wether the rule of thirds is an absolute obligation which infraction entails the eternal condemnation of the photographer not to post anymore in photo.net...) since this picture is about winter, snow and desolation, once again. The sheep adds a touch of life. Great picture, Miguel. Raise my hat to your photographic eye. Should I look for a small improvement I suggest, next time, you negociate with the weatherman to get thicker clouds over that sun on the upper middle right third. The problem, then, would be that the sheep wouldn't be sort of outlined in that semi counterlight so, perhaps, you did negotiate with the weather service in the end! :-)) Link to comment
vvazquez 0 Posted January 9, 2003 Great picture Miguel, love the light and composition.P.S: Thanks Alberto for the clarification about the thirds rule, I was about to cut my veins cause I have a lot of pictures that don't follow the rule... ;-))))))) Link to comment
ml 0 Posted January 9, 2003 Thanks for all your comments .I used ps filters to give the effect desired. Link to comment
theblindphotographer 0 Posted January 10, 2003 Miguel; I believe there is to much space on the left hand side. I'd also crop a touch from the right. Please feel free to disagree ;>) blind Link to comment
vishwa 0 Posted January 11, 2003 trees are almost two dimensional, casting a fine and light shadow on a piece of old paper as backdrop. Extremely delicate and beautiful. Classic monochromatic. I wouldn't touch it. Link to comment
shadetree407 2 Posted January 11, 2003 Don't change a thing. It catches a lone sheep looking off into the distance towards the direction the translucent light is coming from.... seemingly waiting for soemthing to appear out of the mist. The large and small trees work great and the tonalities make the image look somewhat surreal. Link to comment
michael_andrew 0 Posted January 11, 2003 This image appears as a photogravure. The balance between the large and small trees is terrific. The size difference creates tension. The sheep provides a focal point for the eye to rest. This is an exceptional image. Link to comment
k._s._lovington 0 Posted January 12, 2003 Cropping the left side would give this more balance. Still cool, though. Link to comment
charodiez 0 Posted January 13, 2003 Muy buena imagen, desde luego que la ovejita es el complemento para la foto. Me gusta la sensación de frío, soledad, silencio que transmite. Link to comment
